About Us

The Transfiguration Youth ministry provides a safe, welcoming environment for all teens. Our programs and ministries are all designed with one goal in mind – to help students begin a lifelong journey of faith. We believe this journey is more than just a collection of programs – it is an opportunity to seek and serve Christ in all people at all times.

CHRISTIAN FORMATION
On Sundays, we have Christian Formation which meets in the Youth Center at 10:15 for all ages. This is where we learn about our faith. This is not your granny’s Sunday School! We meet as a large group for a presentation based on the Gospel reading for the day. We then break up into age-level discussion groups so that every student has the opportunity to explore their faith in a safe, small group setting.

WEEKLY YOUTH PROGRAMS
We offer two weekly programs for High School and Middle School students. Our High School program is called Crossover, and meets from 6:30 to 8:00pm on Wednesdays in the Youth Center. At Crossover, we have dinner as a group, sing, pray, and discuss topics that are relevant to students in 9th-12th grade. Our Middle School program is called Credo. Credo meets on Sundays from 12:30pm to 2:00pm in the Youth Center. Students in 6th-8th grade come to share a meal, sing, play games, pray together, and learn something about faith. If you’re new to Transfiguration Youth, these programs are a great place to start!

RETREATS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Each year we take a retreat to Pine Cove to study our faith in a deep and meaningful way.  This is also a time of rest and renewal, and is always one of the highlights of our year.  And throughout the year, we participate in a wide variety of special events ranging from dances and lock-ins to special worship and service opportunities.  There is always something new happening with the Transfiguration Youth!

FELLOWSHIP
There are plenty of opportunities for fun and fellowship with the Transfiguration Youth! Just about anything you can do on your own, you can do with your Youth Group. Dinners, movies, dances, concerts, talent shows and many other events are all part of what we do. In addition to all this, each summer, we kick it up a notch. We have a week full of amazing activities that we call Youth Week. This is a great opportunity to have fun and bring friends. We play paintball, go rock climbing, sing karaoke and much, much more.

MISSION TRIPS
In the summer we have mission trips for Junior High and Senior High youth. This is an incredible chance to serve God, others and be changed by God. We believe mission trips should be nothing short of life-changing experiences so we make sure to do work that matters and worship God in a way that makes a difference to us and God.

PILGRIMAGE
Every two years, our Senior High students have the option of going on a pilgrimage – a religious journey in which we travel together, looking for God. We get a better understanding of who we are and what God wants us to do with our lives.

LOCAL MISSIONS
We have plenty of opportunities for you to serve your community throughout the year. Once a month, we take a day and serve a local organization. We call this our City Mission. We’ve served groups like Mission Arlington, The Bridge, The Dallas Community Garden, The International Rescue Committee, The Neighborhood Service Council, Sunrise Senior Living Center, The North Texas Food Bank and many others. We also participate in some larger initiatives throughout the year including the 30 Hour Famine, NOH8, and our annual garage sale, which also serves as our primary fundraiser.

You are welcome – regardless of where you live, go to school – or where you are in your faith.
